Louisville, KY., June 27, 2023—Arcadia Communities, an operator of senior living communities headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky announced today that it has acquired Wickshire Senior Living Blankenbaker and plans to operate the 203-unit retirement community as “Arcadia Senior Living Louisville.” The luxury residence for active seniors seeking Independent, Personal Care and Memory Care services offers residents the opportunity to enjoy a carefree lifestyle in a community that offers quality services and care, spacious customized apartments, and tremendous amenities. While Arcadia owns and operates Senior Living Communities across Kentucky, this is their first Louisville location.
“It’s an honor to add this beautiful community to the Arcadia family, and as a Louisville-based company, we’re particularly proud to acquire our first community here in our hometown. I’ve long felt this was the best location for Senior Housing in Louisville and my support team and I are excited to begin working with the team to incorporate our resident-centered approach to this community,” said Brian Durbin, President of Arcadia Communities.
Arcadia Communities was honored to be certification as a Great Place to Work for the third year in a row in 2023, after surveying 95% of employees from across 7 locations, evaluating team members’ experience on the job. These included employee pride in the organization’s community impact, belief that their work makes a difference, and feeling their work has special meaning. Rankings are based on employees’ experiences, no matter who they are or what they do.
“I am looking forward to providing the Louisville community team members with the support and resources they need to provide outstanding service to those we serve,” said Kristie Kronk, Chief Operating Officer for Arcadia Communities. “Our goal is to offer our residents a beautiful and comfortable community to call home, but more importantly provide outstanding care, quality dining services, and a diverse schedule of activities that support an active and independent lifestyle. We strive to operate our communities with honesty, integrity, and compassion and look forward to putting our years of experience to work for the benefit of our residents.”
“I’m also excited to share that we plan to complete a ‘Renovate and Refresh’ project for this campus,” Durbin said. “The intent is to update the community with new paint, flooring, furniture, and fixtures, as well as the exteriors of both buildings.”
